By submitting a nomination, each entrant agrees that Qualcomm and its designees may use the entrant's name and logo, as well as a screenshot(s) and/or demos of the submitted application for advertising, promotional, and other purposes associated with the BREW 2008 Developer Awards in any and all media (including conference web sites) now or hereafter known without further compensation or notification. By participating in the BREW 2008 Developer Awards, entrants and winners agree to these terms and conditions, the Rules and the decisions of Qualcomm, which will be final and binding in all aspects. Prizes cannot be assigned or transferred, and non-cash prizes are not redeemable for cash. Winners will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility. This promotion is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void wherever taxed, prohibited by law or otherwise restricted.

Judging Process

The BREW 2008 Developer Awards will be judged by an anonymous panel of wireless industry experts from around the world. Using a "scorecard" system for each entry, judging for each category will be based on the following criteria: ease of use, originality, cool factor, features and shows evidence of success or likelihood of success (for pre-commercial entries in the "Best Up and Coming Application" and "Best Public or Private Sector Business Application" categories).

Three finalists per award category (except for the People's Choice Award) will be selected based on a points system. Finalists will be announced by May 12, 2008. Each finalist will be supplied with additional information approximately four weeks prior to the conference. All finalists will be automatically considered for the People's Choice award, giving conference attendees the opportunity to vote for their favorite application across all categories.

Finalists will receive valuable recognition:
  • Inclusion in a Qualcomm-issued press release announcing the awards finalists
  • Promotion of their application in the awards section of the BREW Conference web site
  • Promotion of their application before the conference as attendees are encouraged to vote for their favorite finalist application in the People's Choice Awards
  • Promotion of their application during the conference on signage and plasmas that will feature the finalist application demos
  • Finalists exhibiting in the partner pavilion at BREW 2008 will be identified as an awards finalist with a sign at their booth
  • Employees of finalist companies attending BREW 2008 will be distinguished with a special awards finalist badge

The application receiving the highest total number of points in its category will be named the winner at the awards ceremony, held at the BREW 2008 Conference in San Diego, May 28 - 30, 2008.

Remember:

Your submission is not complete until you have provided a demo of your application which must be received by February 29, 2008.
