BREW 2001: A Milestone Event for Developers
Qualcomms inaugural BREW 2001: Developer & 3G Technology Conference, held May 8-10 in San Diego, was a milestone event for developers. The conference not only marked the first commercial release of the BREW Software Development Kit, but also was the first gathering of a new developer community filled with unbelievable potential. The conference was designed to give developers information about the business and technical aspects of the BREW technology and the market its creating for wireless applications.
Kicking off the conference with his keynote discussion, "A Powerful New Platform for Wireless Data Applications," Qualcomm Executive Vice President Paul Jacobs delivered an important message to developers. "Applications are going to drive the wireless industry from now on," said Jacobs. "Wireless data is going to drive the industry forward and the key to wireless data is applications and that market depends on developers. Developers now need to start building this huge, dynamic market for applications. BREW has opened up a whole new industry for developers to participate in."
If you missed this landmark event and want to hear more from Paul Jacobs and other key players in the wireless industry, or if you want to refresh your memory with the wealth of information delivered, the audio rebroadcast and presentation slides of selected presentations from the 2001 BREW Developer Conference are now available.
