Bell South International to Launch BREW in Nine Countries
BellSouth International has signed a definitive agreement with Qualcomm for the commercial launch of BREW-based services to more than 8.6 million subscribers in nine Latin American countries. BellSouth International's operations in Colombia and Ecuador will be the first to launch BREW-based products and services. The remaining BellSouth International operations currently planning to roll out services based on the BREW solution are Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, Uruguay and Venezuela.
BellSouth International is the second operator in Latin America to support the BREW solution. VIVO commercially launched its BREW-based "Download" service in March 2003 for its subscribers in Brazil. The agreement is another indication of the rapidly growing worldwide market for your BREW applications.

Your applications have been a big hit with Verizon Wireless' Get It Nowsm users according to a recent announcement by the operator. Just eight short months since the national launch of Get It Now - customers have downloaded 11,762,894 Get It Now games, ring tone packages, entertainment applications and more (a single download may consist of a bundle of up to 10 ring tones; each month, ring tone packages are one of the most popular downloads).
The rate of downloads, has skyrocketed to 2.3 million downloads in May 2003, up from just under 1 million a month in the first few months of service that began in September 2002. On average, nearly 75,000 applications were downloaded each day in the month of May alone.

back to topBREW Extensions Launched in Commercial Applications
For the first time in the U.S., BREW extensions are now launched in commercial applications. GemJam Challenge, by BREW application publisher Chasma, utilizes M7 Network Inc.'s M7 Challenge extension. This extension allows players to register a user name, post their own high scores and view the nationwide game leader board all from within the game. GemJam Challenge is commercially available on the Verizon Wireless and ALLTEL application catalogs in the U.S. Several other applications using M7 Challenge and other extensions have passed TRUE BREW® testing and are expected to find their way to operator catalogs in the near future.

back to topMembership in the CDGÂ…Giving You the Competitive Edge
The key success factors for delivering content and applications to the global wireless marketplace are: 1) A clear understanding of the technology; 2) Access to key industry players, including content developers, equipment manufacturers and service providers; and 3) Awareness of how companies are delivering applications and services today.
Membership in the CDMA Development Group (CDG) offers you all of this, and more. The CDG offers content and application developers a forum to learn about the technology and discuss technical matters important to the rollout of wireless applications.
The CDG is an international consortium of companies leading the adoption and evolution of CDMA wireless systems around the world. By working together, the members will help ensure interoperability among systems, while expediting the availability of CDMA technology to consumers.
The CDG offers the opportunity to network with companies involved in the delivery of mobile wireless services. Content and applications developers can learn firsthand what services and applications operators are looking to offer their customers. In addition, the CDG provides significant promotional benefits to members, including opportunities to speak, exhibit and participate at CDG conferences and technology forums; company listings and discussion groups on the CDG website; and access to the latest industry information.
The CDG invites all companies that are developing content and applications to become CDG members. By joining the CDG you will be working with leading companies to shape the future of wireless applications.
For more information on membership, please contact DeAnn Burke at dburke@cdg.org or +1-714-545-5211.
