MUMBAI - November 7, 2005 - Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and other advanced wireless technologies, today announced the close of its successful BREW 2005 Developer Conference - India, held October 26-27 in Mumbai. This year's conference delivered on its theme "BREW for Success," focusing on ways in which the BREW solution can empower every member of the value chain, including operators, handset manufacturers, publishers and developers. The conference allowed participants to collaborate, network and form strategic relationships with leading operators, handset manufacturers, publishers, developers and technology providers in the mobile marketplace.
"The BREW Developers Conference in India emphasized Qualcomm's commitment to empower the entire mobile value chain by offering attendees the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the potential of the Indian wireless data industry," said Kanwalinder Singh, president of Qualcomm India and SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation). "Qualcomm is excited to have the opportunity to work with Indian operators Reliance Infocomm and Tata Indicom. In just over one year since launching BREW services, Tata has rocketed to its ranking among the top 10 BREW operators in terms of number of BREW application downloads, a testament to the rapid growth and success that the BREW solution enables."

The BREW 2005 Developers Conference - India featured several prominent speakers who focused on the potential the BREW solution holds for the Indian wireless data industry in the areas of mobile gaming, customizable user interfaces, location-based services, multimedia, mobile messaging, business applications and a host of other segments. Key speakers included: Kanwalinder Singh; Hidenori Shima, assistant manager, au global business development and planning department, KDDI; Pankaj Sethi, vice president of content and applications, Tata Teleservices Limited; Mahesh Prasad, president, applications and solutions group, Reliance Infocomm Limited; and Dr. Nimish Shrivastava, president of eMbience.
Speaking at a press conference at the event, Pankaj Sethi of Tata Teleservices said, "We have launched over 75 games on the BREW platform and have completed a successful one-year association with BREW and Qualcomm. The application development space and gaming, in particular, holds tremendous potential and BREW has successfully enabled us to deliver value to our customers."
"Tata will continue to encourage developers to build innovative applications and help to market them. The synergy that Qualcomm has facilitated with the developer community is truly commendable," said Sethi.
"Operators the world over are realizing the revenue opportunities from multimedia and data services on their mobile networks," said Mahesh Prasad of Reliance Infocomm. "Hence, they are channelizing concentrated efforts in this direction. During the conference, a special awards ceremony was held on October 27 to honor achievements made by Indian BREW developers. Qualcomm executives identified award recipients based on outstanding service in BREW application development. This awards ceremony is separate and distinct from the official BREW Developer Awards held during the annual BREW Conference in the United States.

- The Diamond BREW award was presented to Astute Systems for the company's "out of the box" applications, ranging from the mythical to the financial, that bring added value to consumers.
- The Golden BREW award was presented to Phoneytunes for its unique brand of fun and innovative applications, including M Blog, Karaoke and chatting applications.
- The Silver BREW award was presented to Nazara Technologies for repurposing content for mobile phones and many exciting BREW projects in the pipeline.
